High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore Visited the SMF

The newly appointed High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, His Excellency Dato' Zainol Rahim Bin Zainuddin visited the SMF in January 2019.

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) hosted a visit from the newly appointed High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, His Excellency Dato' Zainol Rahim Bin Zainuddin on 4 January 2019.  Accompanied by the Minister Counsellor (Economics), Mr Lim Chee Hau, and the Minister Counsellor (Investment), Mr Ahmad Tajudin Omar, they were warmly received by SMF President Mr Douglas Foo at the SMF Building.

 

His Excellency and Mr Foo shared their views on engaging and promoting closer bilateral business relations between the two countries. Singapore is recognised as one of the key investors in Malaysia and both His Excellency and Mr Foo agreed that there are opportunities to further encourage companies, especially SMEs in the two countries, to collaborate.

 

Both parties also acknowledged the importance of ASEAN and agreed on intensifying efforts to encourage Malaysia and Singapore companies to work together to tap on the opportunities offered by membership to ASEAN.
