Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) was honoured to host the Shanxi Women Entrepreneurs Association (SXAWE) on 3rd July 2018 for an afternoon of round table talk and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Coming to Singapore for the first time, the 28 women entrepreneurs were inquisitive about Singapore’s systems, particularly its education system. It was a robust discussion together with SMF President, Mr. Douglas Foo and SMF’s Senior Advisor to China Business Group, Mr. Poh Choon Ann. SMF’s four female council members were also present during the discussion, providing advice to the delegation on topics ranging from exports to Singapore to Singapore’s education system.
The MOU was later signed between Mr. Foo and the SXAWE President, Ms. Wang Qiaolan to promote strong business relations between the two enterprises. The MOU will also see both enterprises assisting and advising their members who are visiting the respective countries.
SXAWE was set up in 1996 and is the leading association that represents women entrepreneurs in Shanxi. The association has eight member organisation and 240 individual members.
